Adobe Web Premium – Essential Software for Web Designers

This software suite has become the industry standard for web designers.

Adobe Flash in particular has no serious rivals when it comes to creating animated web pages. If you are used to earlier versions of Flash such as Flash 8, you will find CS4 is a big step forward. It includes Actionscript 3, which is far more logical in its handling of events and display objects than previous versions, plus a variety of other features, including support for 3D animation.

Dreamweaver is the industry standard html editor used to created web pages, while Contribute provides a simple system for creating websites that can be updated by users without any knowledge of html.

Adobe Photoshop is useful for editing photography, however it has many other applications, including creating web templates that can be exported into Dreamweaver.

One of the most useful features of the Adobe suite is its integration, so you can for example paste a graphic from Illustrator or Fireworks directly into Flash.

The suite has so many features that it is impossible to list them all here. If you can get even halfway to mastering this software you will be an accomplished web designer.

I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in search engine optimization. It is primarily aimed at PHP developers, however it could be profitably read by anyone with an interest in this field, even with little or no knowledge of PHP.

Each chapter contains some very useful discussion of the issues involved, as well as coding examples. They also contain links for finding further information - essential when the field of SEO is constantly evolving.

The authors make a powerful case that search engine optimization is an issue that should be considered from the start when planning and building a website. As the architecture of a typical site grows increasingly complex this can cause serious problems for search robots unless it is implemented properly, with a consequently disastrous impact on search engine rankings.
